Now, place the patties on the grill once it is at the right temperature (350°). You must flip the patties every now and then. I can’t mention an exact time interval for this as it purely depends on the thickness of the patty you deal with.

However, it should happen every three to five minutes to provide even heat on both sides. 

After the first round of flip, I usually add BBQ sauce to the patties to give them an additional flavor and moisture. Another important thing is that you should never allow flare-ups on the burgers; if not, the end product would have a bad scorched taste. 

The internal temperature of the patties has to be 160° before you serve. However, measuring the temperature while the patties are on the grill might not work here. So, I recommend you remove them from the grill temporarily when you want to check the internal temperature to get an accurate reading.
